Tiger Maple, Birdseye Maple,American Black Cherry, and Mahogany are the woods of
our furniture. We begin with rough lumber and every part of thefinished heirloom is
produced in our shop.
Our furniture is constructed entirely in solid wood using mortise and tenon pegged
joints, locked and
mitered corners, and dovetails.
As important as time honored joinery techniques are, the successful completion
of each piece is ultimately dependent upon the finish. Furniture is available in
a Hand Rubbed Natural Oil Finish, a Hand Rubbed Natural Lacquer Finish, a variety
of hand painted decorations and faux finishes, and a Hand Rubbed Stained and Lacquered
The oil finish we create is extremely durable and an occasional replenishing of the
wood surface is all
that is necessary. The satin lacquer finish is a twelve step process that may be
simply wiped clean with a damp cloth, with an occasional polishing with a good non-silicone
Our finish is not a “processed” finish, but one that is subtly glowing with the warmth
of a well patinated antique. The stained finishes enhance the natural beauty of
the wood, they do not mask or hide the grain.
